Hi! I was hoping that you would see this. I think this was from an issue of STRANGE TALES, erly on in the Nick Fury run (before Jim Steranko). Later tonight, I will definitely put up a huge image of it behind a cut (when I will be working with my laptop). Sorry I don`t have the exact issue number; my lifelong habit of clipping pages and photos from all over the place makes me an historian`s nightmare, I`m afraid.

What I am looking for now is an ad from a WW II era Fawcett comic featuring the Mary Marvel Marching Society (a fan club tht must have stuck in the back of Stan`s mind all those years). I know I saw it somewhere, showing Mary as a drum majorette leading a parade, but so far no luck finding it.

Well, once you post the larger image, I'll do another post about it on my blog, and maybe we'll figure out which issue is was. Wow, and here I was _sure_ it was a comic that had Titanium Man on the cover!

As for the Mary Marvel Marching Society, have you seen this?

Is the hoax story not true?

The bigger post is up, let me if it works for you!

I can easily believe that the Mary Marvel Marching Society ad was spurious. I had a complete run of MONSTERS AND HEROES and there was some good commentary in there but also a lot of ranting. Larry Ivie had strong opinions, fine, but he did tend to go overboard with his preferences. His Altron-Boy strip was bogged down with preaching in the dialogue, and his articles were peppered with so many capitalized words* and exclamation points that they seemed overwrought.

*I'm guilty of this myself, I know. I think I caught it from Lajka, who think regular print is boring.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to access a larger file. I downloaded them all, more than once, and even clicked on "original," and all files are exactly the same size -- 573KB -- which isn't allowing me to get the image any larger without it getting terribly blurry. If you can just email it to me, I'd appreciate it!

I'll give it a try, I might be able to figure it out.

Thanks! If you just want to email it to me, that's fine, too.

Another solution, since I can't seem to download anything larger than your original image -- if the image is too lrge to email, and you have a url for the larger jpg, just post that here, and maybe that will work.

Thanks!
